The Gray State: Rise of American Tyranny by Consent or Conquest

# # #

Gray State Official Concept Trailer

GRAY STATE SYNOPSIS

The world reels with the turmoil of war, geological disaster, and economic collapse, while Americans continue to submerge themselves in illusions of safety and immunity. While rights are sold for security, the federal government, swollen with power, begins a systematic takeover of liberty in order to bring about a New World Order.

Americans, quarantined to militarized districts, become a population ripe for tyrannical control.

Fearmongering, terrorism, police state, martial law, war, arrest, internment, hunger, oppression, violence, resistance -- these are the new terms by which Americans define their existence. Neighbor is turned against neighbor as the value of the dollar plunges to zero, food supplies are depleted, and everyone is a terror suspect. There are arrests. Disappearances. Bio attacks. Public executions of those even suspected of dissent. Even rumors of concentration camps on American soil.

This is the backdrop to an unfolding story of resistance. American militias prepare for guerilla warfare. There are mass defections from the military as true Patriots attempt to rally around the Constitution and defend liberty, preparing a national insurgency against federal forces, knowing full well this will be the last time in history the oppressed will be capable of organized resistance.

It is a time of transition, of shifting alliance, of mass awakening and mass execution. It is an impending storm, an iron-gray morning that puts into effect decades of over-comfort and complacency, and Americans wake up to an occupied homeland. It is a time of lists -- black list, white list, and those still caught in the middle, those who risk physical death for their free will and those who sell their souls to maintain their idle thoughts and easy comforts. It is in this Gray State that the perpetuation of human freedom will be contested, or crushed.

Is it the near future, or is it the present? The Gray State is coming - by consent or conquest. This is battlefield USA.

Julian Assange (WikiLeaks): War on whistleblowers must end!

Julian Assange at Embassy of Ecuador in London

(RT.com) Julian Assange has made his first public appearance in the two months since he took refuge at the Ecuadorian embassy in London. He thanked the hundreds of people gathered outside the embassy for their support, claiming it was their resolve and presence that stopped British police from storming the building.

"On Wednesday night, after a threat was sent to this embassy and police desceneded on this building, you came out in the middle of the night to watch over it, and you brought the worlds eyes with you. Inside this embassy after dark I could hear teams of police swarming up into the building through the internal fire escape," Assange said. "But I knew there'd be witnesses. And that was because of you."

The WikiLeaks founder also thanked Ecuadorian President Raphael Correa "for the courage he has shown" in granting him asylum, as well as other nations and individuals who support Correa's decision. Assange then slammed the US government and President Barack Obama, calling for an end to the "witch hunt against WikiLeaks."

"The United States must pledge before the world will not pursue journalists for shining light on the secret crimes of the powerful. The US administration’s war against whistleblowers must end," he said. He also spoke on Bradley Manning, the Army Private who was slapped with 22 criminal charges for his alleged role in leaking intelligence documents to WikiLeaks, which were then made publicly available on the Internet. Manning has been imprisoned for more than 800 days in pre-trial detention, and has yet to be brought before a military tribunal. "On Wednesday, Bradley spent his 815th day of detention without trial. The legal maximum is 120 days," Assange said. "If Bradley Manning did as he is accused, he is a hero and invaluable to all of us. Bradley Manning must be released."

The WikiLeaks founder was granted political asylum by Ecuador on Thursday – a decision that ignited a wave of international response, with the UK and Sweden opposing the verdict and Latin American countries strongly supporting Ecuador’s move.

American Distrust in Major Media at New High!

# # #

U.S. Distrust in Media Hits New High: Fewer Americans closely following political news now than in previous election years

(Gallup.com) Americans' distrust in the media hit a new high this year, with 60% saying they have little or no trust in the mass media to report the news fully, accurately, and fairly. Distrust is up from the past few years, when Americans were already more negative about the media than they had been in years prior to 2004.

The record distrust in the media, based on a survey conducted Sept. 6-9, 2012, also means that negativity toward the media is at an all-time high for a presidential election year. This reflects the continuation of a pattern in which negativity increases every election year compared with the year prior. The current gap between negative and positive views -- 20 percentage points -- is by far the highest Gallup has recorded since it began regularly asking the question in the 1990s. Trust in the media was much higher, and more positive than negative, in the years prior to 2004 -- as high as 72% when Gallup asked this question three times in the 1970s.

Obama Regains Right to Indefinitely Detain American Citizens via NDAA

Obama Wins Right to Indefinitely Detain Americans Under NDAA

(RT.com) A lone appeals judge bowed down to the Obama administration late Monday and reauthorized the White House’s ability to indefinitely detain American citizens without charge or due process.

Last week, a federal judge ruled that an temporary injunction on section 1021 of the National Defense Authorization Act for Fiscal Year 2012 must be made permanent, essentially barring the White House from ever enforcing a clause in the NDAA that can let them put any US citizen behind bars indefinitely over mere allegations of terrorist associations. On Monday, the US Justice Department asked for an emergency stay on that order, and hours later US Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit Judge Raymond Lohier agreed to intervene and place a hold on the injunction.

The stay will remain in effect until at least September 28, when a three-judge appeals court panel is expected to begin addressing the issue.

Obama Admin Appeals NDAA Ruling in Bid to Preserve Indefinite Detention at Home and Abroad

(DemocracyNow.org) The Obama administration has filed an emergency appeal of a federal judge's decision to block a controversial statute that gave the government the power to carry out indefinite detention. Judge Katherine Forrest ruled against a provision in the National Defense Authorization Act, or NDAA, authorizing the imprisonment of anyone deemed a terrorism suspect anywhere in the world without charge or trial.

A group of journalists, scholars and political activists had brought the case, arguing the provision was so broad it could easily infringe on freedom of speech. In a court filing on Monday, the government argued Judge Forrest's ruling could go beyond the statute itself to curb the indefinite provisions contained in the legislation authorizing the so-called post-9/11 "War on Terror," potentially jeopardizing the imprisonment of foreigners in Afghanistan without charge.

We look at the Obama administration's support for indefinite detention at home and abroad with Empty Wheel blogger Marcy Wheeler.

Amerikan Tyranny: TSA Caught In Huge Power Grab!

# # #

Alex Jones: The Nanny State on Steroids

TSA thugs are proud of the fact that in all 50 states they are testing peoples drinks and food that is purchased after they pass the abuse and harassment control freak checkpoints of the TSA "officers". This is nothing but a power grab where the public are conditioned to put up with any command no matter how mindless. The airports are tyranny zones where the criminal government test new forms of domination on the sheep-like public before rolling it out on the street.

The Republicans Cross The Rubicon: Major Media Is Washington's Propaganda Ministry

Dr. Paul Craig Roberts: The Republicans Cross The Rubicon

Does anyone remember when National Public Radio was an independent voice? During the 1980s NPR was continually on the case of the Reagan administration. NPR certainly had a Democratic slant, and a lot of its reporting about the Reagan administration was one-sided. Yet, NPR was an independent voice, and it sometimes got things correct.

In the 21st century that voice has disappeared, which was the intention of the George W. Bush regime. Bush put a Republican woman in charge who made it clear to NPR producers and show hosts that the federal part of their funding was at risk. Money often over-rules principle, and when corporations added their really big money NPR collapsed. Today the local stations still pretend to be funded by listeners, but if you have noticed, as I have, there are now a large number of corporate advertisements, disguised in the traditional terms “with support from . . .” If you are not listening to classical music, you are listening to corporate advertisements.

Today the entire “mainstream media” is closed to truth-tellers. The US media is Washington’s propaganda ministry. The US media has only one function--to lie for Washington. What reminded me of NPR’s surrender was NPR’s August 31 report with its two regular talking voice political pundits discussing the Republican Convention and Romney’s speech. After witnessing the Republicans at their nominating convention at Tampa violate all their own rules and ride roughshod over the Ron Paul delegates, one expected some discussion of the Republican Party’s refusal to allow Ron Paul to be placed in nomination or his delegate account to be announced.

The operative question was obvious: How can the American people trust the Republicans with the awesome power of the executive branch when the Republican Party just finished demonstrating for all to see its Stalinist qualities by crushing the anti-war, anti-police state wing of its party? The authoritarianism was gratuitous. Romney had a sufficient number of delegates to be nominated. It would have cost Romney nothing to follow the rules and allow Ron Paul to be placed in nomination and his delegate numbers to be reported. Instead, Romney wrote off the liberty contingent of the Republican Party. The Brownshirts demonstrated their power.
